Yuri Miroshnychenko

Chairman of the National Committee of the Ukraine Development Party

MP of the V, VI and VII Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

Ukraine for me is not just a country of an incredible beauty with endless forests and fields, diverse landscapes and a rich culture; for me Ukraine is a country with a great future.
I am convinced that owing to its potential and the irresistible spirit of the Ukrainian people, Ukraine has every chance to soon take its rightful place among the most developed countries of the world. In the near future I see Ukraine as a prosperous, strong, democratic and economically stable country with equal opportunities of development for every citizen.

I went into politics to protect the interests of ordinary citizens and to accelerate the socio-economic transformation in the country.
I choose the Ukraine Development Party because this new political force complies with my life principles and political creed.

The Ukraine Development Party has clear, understandable and transparent political principles. It has united the new generation of young politicians with experienced public managers in its ranks. I am sure that this tandem will be a driving force in the development of a stable, economically developed European country.

Life creed (motto):
Whoever you may be – try to be better every day.

Life and career milestones.
I was born on February 3, 1970, the village of Lisino-Korpus, Tosnensky district, Leningrad region, Russia. I moved to Novgorod-Seversky, located in the Chernihiv Region at the age of 11, therefore I consider Ukraine my real motherland.

Higher education was obtained at Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, foreign philology faculty. From 1998 to 2001 I studied at Labour and Social Relations Academy of the Trade Union Federation of Ukraine, Kyiv, with the legal faculty. In 2004 I obtained a master’s degree in state management at the National State Management Academy under the President of Ukraine.

My public activity started in 1998 when I founded the All-Ukrainian Non-Government Union called NEW GENERATION. Being a head of this organization I brought to life such projects as Leader’s School and Politician’s School.
From 1999 to 2006 I was a member of public collegiate body of the State Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship Committee for regulatory policy and entrepreneurship. In the period from 2000 to 2005 I headed the board of the REC-Kyiv Regional Ecological Centre.
In 2005 I was a president of the Centre of Efficient Management.
I began my career in the early 1990s, creating a company to provide consulting and legal services to business entities. In time, the team managed to take a leading position in the market of consulting services in Ukraine.
In the period from 1993 to 1998, I held management positions in business structures. From 1998 to 1999 I was an adviser to the Department of Economic Policy of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
From 2002 to 2004 I worked in the legal departments of the company "Naftogaztreid" and the company "Ukrtaransgaz-Servis".
Learning by experience that the interests of ordinary citizens can be protected and the socio-economic transformation in Ukraine can be accelerated primarily by the people’s deputies represented in the parliament, I created the "The New Generation of Ukraine" party in 1999.
Starting from 1997 I have been engaged in active political activities and participated in the election to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
In 2004 the "New Generation of Ukraine" party teamed up with the party of Serhiy Tihipko "Labour Ukraine".
In 2006, 2007 and 2012 I was an MP of the Verkhovna Rada in Ukraine of the fifth, sixth and seventh convocations.
By 2007 I have become a well-known public politician with a lot of baggage in the form of practical developments of a number of socially useful bills.
From March 2010 to February 2014 I was a Representative of the President of Ukraine at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Information about the crackdown of the students’ Euromaidan on November 30, 2013 was a turning point in my relation to the Party of Regions. Staying in the ranks of the Party of Regions, I was trying to do everything possible to resolve the political and social situation in the country through peaceful means.
In April 2014, I resigned from the Party of Regions.
On June 21, 2014 at the III Extraordinary Congress of the Ukraine Development Party I was elected Chairman of the National Committee of the new political force.

I have a wife, Sofia Miroshnychenko and three children: daughters Victoriia (born in 1993) and Solomiia (born in 2009) and a son Maxim (born in 2005.).

I am engaged in an active legislative activity and have perhaps the greatest number of the developed bills. Thus, in the period from January 2013 to July 2014 about 50 legislative initiatives were prepared and registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
From 2006 to 2007 - Chairman of the Subcommittee on the procedural law of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Justice
In 2007 I was appointed a Chairman of the subcommittee on the organization and activities of judicial authorities, notaries, law societies and on rendering legal assistance to citizens of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on Judicial Policy.
Currently I am a Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Ukrainian Parliament.
I am a successful scientist – PhD in Political sciences, SJD.
In 2006 I successfully defended my dissertation on "The democratic mechanisms of preparation and adoption of public-policy decisions" at the V. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
In 2012 I defended my doctoral thesis on "The constitutional and legal support for democracy in Ukraine" (theoretical and practical aspects).
A title of the Honoured Jurist of Ukraine was awarded in 2011.

International relations
During operation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the sixth convocation I held the post of a Head of the Parliamentary Group of VRU for Interparliamentary Relations with the Republic of Peru, the First Deputy Head of the Parliamentary Group on Interparliamentary Relations with the Argentine Republic, and was a member of Groups on Interparliamentary Relations with such countries as the USA, Germany, the Russian Federation, the State of Kuwait, the Republic of Congo, the Swiss Confederation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the French Republic, and others.
In 2011 and 2012 I was the guest of honor at the National Prayer Breakfast with President Barack Obama in Washington.
In July 2013 I visited the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute with a lecture on the European integration of Ukraine.

I am fond of green tourism.

Plans for the future
My goal in the near future is to create and develop a powerful new political force in the Ukrainian politicum, which should be a worthy representative of the Ukrainian people in the Parliament and by consolidating the society should strengthen the country from inside, making it steadfast to the impact of negative externalities.
In addition, an important political task is to form the socio-political landscape, aimed at achieving unity and understanding among all the citizens of Ukraine and to create favorable conditions for the development and preservation of the cultural, economic and social achievements of all, without exception, of the diverse regions of our country.
